Does your church have a basement or hall? Do you have parishioners who
want to help the area’s homeless population?
During the winter the Macomb
County Warming Center, a faith-based, nondenominational organization and area churches work together to provide shelter (and a hot meal) for people in need.
Arrangements have been made for a
good portion of the winter months but there is still an opening.
“Local churches are coming
forward to offer space in their buildings but we still have one week during
December (week before Christmas) to fill,” said Kathy Goodrich, executive director
of The Macomb County Warming Center. “We will offer assistance including our
own professional security and intake staff, volunteers, cleanup and supplies.”
